Rumours surround Suu Kyi's release

People are gathering at the National League for Democracy (NLD) headquarters in Rangoon amid rumours that detained opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi will soon be released.
There is speculation the democracy icon will walk free from house arrest tonight.
NLD sources say junta leader Than Shwe has signed the order for her release and that she has received the paperwork in her home.
However her lawyer says he has not been formally notified.
Security has been stepped up in Rangoon, with police vehicles patrolling the city.
Party supporters have been cleaning up the office and placing banners of the Nobel laureate who has spent much of the past 20 years under house arrest.
She was released briefly in 2002 but was detained again in 2003.
Nervous excitement is building in Burma only a week after the first election since she and her party won in a landslide 20 years ago but were not allowed to take office.
Adding to the anticipation, the superstitious people of Burma believe it is an auspicious day, given the date of 12/11/10.
"She has already signed some paperwork about her detention (in the) past 18 months," said Nyo Ohn Myint, a spokesman for the NLD.
"And then also the social branch and local authorities are being at her residence. I think people are very nervous and very excited about her release.
"Hundreds of the NLD members are right now gathering at the NLD headquarters."
Some observers believe her release could come with restrictions to ensure she cannot threaten the generals' hold on power.
Ms Suu Kyi has said she would not accept a conditional release.
